Amanda Brugel
(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a sleepy community on the part of Montreal known as"the West Island. Many people who don't know the name mistakenly believe that they are on the West Island extends westward from Montreal. It is actually it is the West Island includes everything westward of the city of Lachine. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on West Island. But this is not true. Brugel grew to be a young woman living in Courtice Ontario, outside Oshawa. The first goal she had was to become a dancer, but a growth spurt led to her growing beyond the dancers she was with. In an article in The Toronto Star she admitted In heels I'm 6 feet 1 inch. Once I surpassed my male counterparts, I stopped. A lot of former dancers go on to act. In Brugel's case, it was the encouragement of her drama teacher in high school who pushed her to take the step she wanted. It was her teacher who advised her to audition to play the character of Anne in their annual school production. The teacher who suggested she pursue a part the annual school production. When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. Through the years since, Brugel has been offered roles in over 60 shows on small and big screens drawing the most media attention after she was offered the part in the role of Rita on the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the sole Canadian part of the cast in the season 1 of the series and not seen much.
